Amazon has announced its own streaming media player, the Amazon Fire TV. Capable of HD video streaming, the device comes as a box that attaches to your HDTV, and can stream content from services like Netflix, Prime Instant Video, Hulu Plus, and WatchESPN, along with several others.

While the device includes a remote, Amazon is also showing off a voice search function where you can access, or search for shows by title, actor, or genre through voice commands; bypassing the usual process with selection by remotes. Amazon has added a new software feature they call ASAP, which will try to predict your choice of movies and TV episodes, and try to have them ready for viewing preemptively so you don’t spend any time waiting for the video to buffer.

As an added bonus, the device will also let users play their favorite games. Chief among the list being Minecraft and The Walking Dead. More titles would of course be likely to join in as the service grows.

The box is powered by a quad core processor, has 2GB of memory, and dual-band, dual-antenna Wi-Fi. If you would like to get your gaming on, the add-on controller is priced at $39.99. The Fire TV is priced at $99.
