This concept was created by industrial designer from Buenos Aires, Argentina – Juan Garcia Mansilla. As designer says “The RDSV is a 2 seater high speed vehicle for use in any polar environment. It would aptly serve polar exploration, rescue missions, medical emergencies or even sport applications, basically anything that requires high speeds through a polar environment. The whole idea started with the traction system, something that could allow high speeds across Antarctica but could also climb up a mountain for an avalanche rescue operation. Then the whole vehicle was built around it. RDSV features an adaptive traction system that allows for an effective displacement over both ice/hard snow or deep snow. Each wheel is made up by twelve individual units, each with two different paddles: a small one (for hard surfaces) and a big one (for deep snow). InFocus debuted the Kangaroo, a $99 Windows 10 portable PC that “goes anywhere and works with any screen.” The term “mobile desktop” may seem like an oxymoron, but that really is the best description: Picture your typical desktop PC tower shrunk down to the size of a phablet sans screen; just like any desktop, you’ll still need to connect a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Kangaroo is available on Newegg now, and will go on sale at the Microsoft Store by mid-November.

The pitch is simple: Kangaroo offers the power of a cheap full-sized computer with the convenience and mobility of a cell phone. The black satin aluminum device is powered by an Intel Cherrytrail (Z8500) SOC, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (only about 18GB is free when you first start it, but storage is expandable via a microSD card), and an on-board battery (up to four hours of “casual use”). Aerion Corporation, of Reno, Nev., is taking orders now for its supersonic private jet, the Aerion AS2. Last year Airbus Group agreed to lend engineering support to the company, and the aircraft is now in development. The company says its proprietary laminar-flow technology reduces aerodynamic drag over the wings by up to 80 percent, enabling the three-engine jet to achieve efficient long-range flight. Supersonic speeds can cut flight time by 3 hours between Paris and Washington, D.C., and by 6.5 hours between San Francisco and Singapore, the company says. Supersonic flight is currently prohibited above the land areas of the United States and many other countries, due to concerns about sonic booms; however, flight speed above oceans is unrestricted. Aerion is working to develop its Boomless Cruise technology that would ensure the shock waves created by supersonic flight would dissipate well above ground level. The AS2 will be built mainly from carbon fiber, with titanium alloy along the leading edge of each wing. The 30-foot-long cabin will seat up to 11. Maximum range is expected to be about 5,400 miles, and top speed is Mach 1.5. The company hopes the first $120 million AS2 will be flying by 2021.

The concept for Netflix arose during the very early days of DVDs. Only about 2% of US households had DVD players, but we saw that if the market grew to about 20% of households, we could have a really successful company. (Eventually more than 95% of households would come to own DVD players.)

Now from the very beginning of Netflix––and the reason the company was named Netflix and not DVD by Mail––there was our belief that the marketplace for digital content would move to streaming. The idea that this content wouldn’t need to be couriered, but instead would travel over the air. And that’s just where media went. Google’s YouTube division signaled a couple of weeks ago that it was taking gaming and livestreaming more seriously when it signed gaming personality Geoff Keighley to livestream a bunch of game announcements at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the big video game trade show. And on the eve of E3, Google is announcing that it will launch a YouTube Gaming app and web site as another way for gamers to stay up to speed with all things gaming.

Google says this is all about keeping gamers satisfied. But we also know that it wants to take on Amazon, which has pushed far into gamer’s hearts with its acquisition of Twitch. Twitch’s gameplay livestreaming service has garnered more than 100 million monthly active users, and YouTube has taken notice.

“Today, the gaming world is much more diverse than the one I grew up with, and the community has created new formats that have made gaming more collaborative and interactive,” said Alan Joyce, product manager of YouTube Gaming, in a blog post today. “On YouTube, gaming has spawned entirely new genres of videos, from let’s plays, walkthroughs, and speedruns to cooking and music videos. Now, it’s our turn to return the favor with something built just for gamers.”

He said that YouTube Gaming will keep players connected to the games, players, and culture that matters to them. It will have videos, livestreams, and the biggest community of gamers on the web — all in one place.

He said, “YouTube Gaming is built to be all about your favorite games and gamers, with more videos than anywhere else. From ‘Asteroids’ to ‘Zelda,’ more than 25,000 games will each have their own page, a single place for all the best videos and live streams about that title. You’ll also find channels from a wide array of game publishers and YouTube creators.”

You can keep up with your games and channels pretty easily, just by adding a game to your collection for quick access whenever you want to check up on the latest videos. You can subscribe to a channel and get a notification as soon as a livestream starts. And when you search for something like “call,” you’re likely to get “Call of Duty,” not “Call Me Maybe.”

YouTube Gaming will be available this summer, starting in the U.S. and U.K.
