The Freedom of Classicism

This season, Riccardo Tisci turns the page at Givenchy by redefining his version of the “Bon Ton”. This collection is a new mix between Riccardo Tisci soul and Givenchy’s DNA: animals, geometry, prints and masculine / feminine.

With emotion and respect, he reveals a new face of glamour: an explosion of creativity highlighted to haute Couture savoir faire.

For the Fall Winter women’s collection Riccardo Tisci takes inspiration from the 40’s silhouette. The women, elegant and very feminine, propose a modern vision of freedom and good taste in a very intimate and classic way. The skirts are pleated; furs luxuriant and chiffon dress all-over butterflies, leopard and snakeskin print.

Riccardo Tisci creates an urban atmosphere that combines the sobriety and geometry of the Bauhaus movement with basketball imagery.

His inspiration comes not only from basketballs themselves, but also from the design and materials of basketball courts to produce this season’s abstract prints.

The collection possesses a raw, near-animalistic vibe with the presence of muskrat and possum fur. Other fabrics include velvet, angoras, wool flannels, and wool mohairs.

Tailoring is important this season and the new trouser silhouette looks loose and oversized, with double-pleats.

The overall look is chic and elegant and evolves the Givenchy gang look even further this season.
